Ward 6B is a 25 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that is part of the Women’s and Newborn’s Health Service situated on the Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital site. Ward 6B is the only tertiary referral centre for infants born through out Western Australia requiring intervention for surgical, respiratory and cardiac conditions and for infants requiring specialist investigations e.g. endocrine, genetics.
Most infants admitted to the NICU are transferred by the Neonatal Emergency Transport Service which is based within the Neonatal Unit.
Visiting Hours
Parents may visit 24 hours. Grandparents and siblings may visit 9.00am - 7.00pm. Only parents allowed during the flu season.

Chaplaincy
The service is available to anyone whether or not he or she has any religious affiliation and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team can also arrange for you to have a visit from someone of your own religious tradition. To contact Pastoral Care, ask your nurse or telephone 08 9340 8670.
The Multi Faith Centre is located in the historic wooden building near the corner of Hay and Thomas Streets close to the children’s playground. It provides a place to go for spiritual reflection, prayer and quiet time and is open 6.00am to 5.00pm. After hours, a key is available from the Emergency Department and you are welcome to access the building 24 hours a day.
