2007 Annual Golf Day
The Miracle Babies Annual Golf Charity Day was held on Thursday, 15 November 2007 at Camden Valley Golf Resort. The day was a huge success with Miracle Babies raising over $15,000 towards the work of Miracle Babies and much needed life saving equipment for Liverpool Hospital's Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
Gold Hole Sponsors, Australian Events Corporation, Ross Freight, Lander Mitsubishi and Suzuki, Tri City Trucks, Australian Poker League, C91.3 and Signwerx together with keen golfers made the day a great event. The weather was warm and everyone had a fantastic time.
The Annual Charity Golf Day is dedicated to premature or sick babies who lost their fight for survival and golfers play for the Marcus David Pussell Trophy. The room was silent with the presentation of a slideshow on 2 angels no longer with us, Marcus David Pussell, who, born at 25 weeks passed away at 2 days old and Mikayla Star Eyles born at 22 weeks surviving only a few precious moments. "It is great the support for Miracle Babies is really growing, it is such a worthy cause. Whilst the day is extremely hard for us, Marcus will always be part of our family and it is lovely to have him remembered on this special day." Kylie Pussell, Marcus' mother.
The winners for the Marcus David Pussell Trophy for 2007 were Graeme and Wendy Townsend of Wattle Grove and Alan and Vanessa Chaperlin of Manly of Team Mixed Nuts. Runner up was the C91.3 team and Australian Events Corporation came in 3rd.
The support from local business this year has been outstanding with many golf clubs in the area donating golf vouchers for the day. Mr Vic Lorusso and Alf Paranihi of TrafficNet attended the day. Vic Lorusso is a proud Ambassador of Miracle Babies and a vital member of the Miracle Babies team. The C91.3 road crew also dropped in.
Heather Garriock and Sarah Walsh from Matilda's, the Australian soccer team took part in the day and kindly donated a training shirt and the boots Sarah wore when she kicked the first ever goal in a World Cup for Australia.
Our thanks go to Australian Events Corporation for kindly donating assistance in coordinating the day and to all our sponsors and companies who donated prizes for the raffles and auctions.
