2008 Charity Golf Day

Friday, 28 November 2008 may have brought rain, but nothing could dampen the spirits of golfers at the Miracle Babies Annual Charity Golf Day 2008 held at Camden Lakeside Country Club.

David Pussell, Rob Galea, Sonny Wooton and Bob Clarke all of Harrington Park were the overall winners of the day with the major prize being an APL Poker Table and APL poker chips and cards kindly donated by Miracle Babies Gold Partner APL. Prizes also included a round of golf for the team at Camden Lakeside Country Club. The team from Harrington Park had an emotional win, as for the third year in a row they have been trying to win their names on The Marcus David Pussell Shield, as Marcus is the son of David who born at 25 weeks passed away at 2 days old on 15 March 2004. "This really means a lot to me, I believe we had someone very special watching over us today" said David.

The Miracle Babies Annual Charity Golf Day is dedicated to babies who have passed away and teary eyed guests and families were able to share in a presentation of some of the precious miracle babies who lost their fight for survival. Almost $25,000.00 was raised and will go towards life saving equipment for Liverpool Hospital's NICU.

Everyone had a fantastic day and a lot of fun with Vic Lorusso doing the live auction and joining in the fun with raffles, a silent auction and novelty holes.

Lander Mitsubishi and Suzuki, Gold Hole Sponsor and sponsor of Win a Car for a Hole in 1, added to the day's excitement, although the car wasn't won everyone was a happy contender.

Miracle Babies would like to thank all the sponsors for the day including Lander Mitsubishi and Suzuki, Ross Freight, Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway, McDonald's, APL, C91.3, Woolworths, St John's Park Bowling Club, Myer, Krispy Kreme, Air Tek, Signwerx and All Solutions Locksmiths.

The day could not have been as successful without the support of the local community who dealt with the rainy weather to play and come for lunch and the support of local businesses who donated an amazing array of prizes for auction and raffles for the day.
