3rd Annual Charity Ball
Miracle Babies are delighted to report that over $110,000.00 was raised at the Miracle Babies Annual Ball on Saturday 31 May 2008. NSW Premier, Mr Morris Iemma was special guest at the Miracle Babies Annual Ball at the Liverpool Catholic Club. Mr Iemma commenced proceedings for the evening addressing the 520 plus guests and announcing the NSW State Government to kickstart the night with $20,000.00 State Government funding. Melinda Cruz, Miracle Babies President and Founder said "To have the support and acknowledgement of Mr Iemma and the state government is hugely encouraging and will contribute immensely to our growth enabling Miracle Babies to help even more NICU families. We were extremely honoured to have Mr Iemma attend our ball and thank him for his interest in our work."
Guests were treated to a special performance by Doc Neeson of 'The Angels'. The performance was another major highlight of the night with many guests dancing out the night and making the Ball a very memorable evening. Guest Marc Connors of Warwick Farm said "We had a very enjoyable night. It was nice to help Miracle Babies raise money. The entertainment was great."
Miracle Babies Ambassador Vic Lorusso was MC and Auctioneer for the evening which was packed with a live and silent auction, raffles, lucky door prizes and fantastic entertainment by Sydney band "Remember This".
Paul Campbell gave a father's insight into his personal experience of the NICU when his twin boys Ethan and Bryce were born prematurely in 2001 at 27 weeks gestation. Guests were also moved by a presentation of some of the babies born and cared for at Liverpool Hospital's NICU.
Ron Wilson of Channel 10's First at Five News attended the evening and added "Absolutely Inspirational! It just shows how a community based project, with lots of support, can change lives and become a model for the rest of the Country. Families are the building blocks of our society and babies are a vital ingredient."
Event Partner, Raj Prasad of Premium Financial and Retirement Solutions was happy to support the night and with the AMP Foundation matching fundraising efforts up to $20,000.00.
Miracle Babies Platinum Partners, McDonald's Australia Ltd and Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway Inc attended the Ball together with tables from Gold Partners, APL, Myer Liverpool, Krispy Kreme Liverpool, The 1939 Chev Club, St John's Park Bowling Club, Woolworths Limited and Silver Partner Air Tek. Miracle Babies Community Partners and Project Partners also attended the evening.
