A Helping Hand
From 21 April to 11 May 2008 McDonald's Sydney South West restaurants participated in a Helping Hands promotion on behalf of Miracle Babies. McDonald's customers could purchase a Helping Hand for $1.00, write a message on it and the hands were displayed throughout the store.
Over the three week promotion, McDonald's raised an amazing $20,532 for Miracle Babies. McDonald's Roselands set the benchmark for Helping Hands sales, selling 2,690 hands.
Kylie Pussell, Miracle Babies Promotions & Marketing Coordinator, is thankful to all the residents that contributed to the fundraiser throughout its three weeks. "It is because of the support of the local community that Miracle Babies can continue to support parents and families of premature and sick newborns and provide equipment for Liverpool Hospital's NICU."
"The funds raised from the McDonald's Helping Hands Fundraiser will go towards the purchase of a simulated baby which will assist hospital staff in their training procedures. The community should be proud of their contribution to such a vital cause," said Kylie.
This is the second year McDonald's have supported Miracle Babies through the Helping Hands fundraiser and the support of McDonald's Licensees and staff has been amazing.
Thank you to all McDonald's staff and Licensees and all residents who purchased a Helping Hand, your support is going a long way in helping Miracle Babies continue to provide services to NICU families.
A special thank you to those who volunteered their time to attend McDonald's restaurants over the Helping Hands promotion, the Miracle Babies team and especially Sonja Golub, Jenny Xeureb and Westpac Volunteers, Melissa and Nicolas Simper, Mahendra Nand, Maryanne Aspland and Theresa Heilman.
