Poker Player Supports Miracle Babies Foundation
Renata Wilson of Hinchinbrook, NSW who plays regularly in the Australian Poker League at Cabra Vale Diggers and Cabramatta Golf Club recently won the Australian Poker Hero television series.
Renata Wilson plays in the annual charity poker night hosted by APL Sydney South West where all proceeds are donated to Miracle Babies Foundation. Renata outplayed five other players to win the $25,000 first prize which included the opportunity to donate $10,000 to her chosen charity. Renata and her local poker family all support Miracle Babies Foundation and she said "There was no other option, Miracle Babies Foundation is the charity that 'The Family' supports." Her prize includes a $15,000 package to the 2010 Aussie Millions tournament and the $10,000 donation to Miracle Babies Foundation.
Mrs Wilson said she went all-in on the first hand to gain control of the game. "From there I dominated the table and the others were all tight players" she said. "They were very conservative with their chips and I found it very easy to steal and bluff."
Mrs Wilson recently attended the Miracle Babies Foundation national office to present her cheque and meet with some of the volunteers. It is a great relationship that has formed between Miracle Babies Foundation and APL poker players in the Sydney South West.
