Diet and Nutrition

Making sure your child has a good diet and eats well can be a struggle for many parents.  A healthy diet, with good nutrition plays an important role in maintaining good health in children.

Eating habits that are established in childhood continue into later life, so healthy choices should be offered to young children. Poor nutrition can lower the resistance to infectious disease, can affect mental and physical ability, can cause obesity, iron deficiency, and dental caries. Being born early can increase the incidence of dental problems related to abnormal tooth enamel leading to cavities.
