Eli, 32 Weeks

Miracle Mum Leah shares Eli's story:

"At our 20 week scan we found out I had a short cervix. They monitored it closely and I started on progesterone.
At 31 weeks and 6 days, my water broke. I had already prepared myself mental for the possibility of an early arrival and SCN stay.

They attempted to stop labour, however this little guy was not waiting. At 32 weeks, Eli was born via cesarean section. He entered the world with a cry, which was such a relief as I had been told that they may have to intubate him.
Eli spent less than 2 days on oxygen support, and a couple of days under uv lights.

Eli amazed the doctors and nurses everyday with his progress, and was a star patient.

The nurses in the SCN were amazing and go above and beyond their job role. Leaving your baby in hospital while you head home each day is heartbreaking, but with these amazing humans it made it a little bit easier.

Eli spent 3 weeks in SCN and came home at 35 weeks. He is now a happy and cheeky 8 month old."
