Leigh Mae's Story, 23 Weeks

Hello, I have seen so many beautiful pictures, I wanted to share my Leigh Mae.
She was born December 16, 2014 at 23 week 5 days. She spent the first 7 months of her life in the NICU. During those 7 months she had a G/J tube and a tracheotomy done, and then another 3 months PICU that included her having to be on ECMO for 5 days, she came home October 14th 2015 on the highest vent settings made it through RSV season without getting sick.
On April 26, 2016 she was taken off the vent completely, she still has her trach but she is breathing 100% on her own. She will have her trach for a couple year because she had a severe Subglottic Stenosis that can't be fixed until she is bigger. She truly is our Miracle Baby, being given a less than a 2% survival she proved all the Doctors wrong she will 2 in a month and a half and we can wait to celebrate her and her journey thus far. She has been down a long scary road, still has a long painful road ahead of her, but she is AMAZING, so very strong we call her our Princess Warrior.
