Lexie Jade's Story, 29 Weeks

Miracle Mum, Crystal shares the story of Lexi Jade's early arrival.

"Our precious Lexi Jade was born by emergency c-section at 29 weeks, born at 11:11pm on 1st May 2013.

From the get-go, our princess was a little fighter. After a blood transfusion at birth and a ventilator to help her breathe, we knew Lexi was up against it.

Minute after minute, hour after hour, day after day, we were by her side. Talking to her, holding her hand, praying that our princess would get better. Every day we held onto hope.

We had a great medical team looking after our girl, we never gave up hope. Every day was a struggle. We had a 16-month old that couldn't understand why his little sister couldn't come home. We spent 90% of our time by her side. I did not leave the hospital.

On day 13, we were told to call in our family. Our little fighter was losing her battle. When faced with the heartbreaking decision, it was not one that we could make. We left it in the hands of the medical team. At 12:59pm on 13 May 2013, our princess lost her battle.

She was the strongest little girl that we have known and is now the brightest star in the sky. Fly high Lexi Jade".

Thank you so much Crystal for sharing your precious Lexi Jade's story.
