Baby Sensory ‘Superheroes’ support Miracle Babies!

TUESDAY 15 FEBRUARY 2022

This March, Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense will be running special Superhero Senseathon event classes right across Australia in support of the Miracle Babies Foundation.

The Superhero ‘Senseathon’ is a wonderful event which will also help babies born premature or sick and their families, raising vital funds to support the work of Miracle Babies Foundation, supporting the 48,000 families impacted each year.

Those already registered for Baby Sensory or Toddler Sense classes will be able to participate at their local class Superhero classes (only registered locations).

Classes will run during the month of March with more than 6,000 families expected to participate. Families can contact their local class leader to find out more about their event date.

The inaugural ‘Senseathon’, took place in 2019 and raised more than $35,000, and this year Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense class leaders and families are hoping to smash that target and raise much needed funds to support premature and sick newborns and their families.

All money raised from the Superhero Senseathon will go towards supporting families who have a premature or sick newborn through the Miracle Babies NurtureProgram.

The program is globally recognised within the Neonatal Field and consists of;

  • NurtureLine: National 24-hour family support line.
  • NurtureTime: In-hospital parent to parent support, facilitated by Miracle Babies Support Team Members who have also had a NICU experience themselves.
  • NurtureGroup: Out-of-hospital play and support groups for families to connect with others who have been through a similar experience.

Baby Sensory was the first (and original) baby programme to offer a complete approach to learning and sensory development from birth to 13 months. The multi award-winning Baby Sensory programme has been designed specifically for babies from birth to 13 months based on over 40 years of research into babies’ learning and development.

Beautiful activities and magical experiences help support babies’ development while providing hundreds of ideas for play. By explaining the ''why'' behind everything they do, Baby Sensory class leaders provide you with the tools to help continue the fun and learning at home.

"A sensory environment rich in sights, sounds, smells and textures promotes brain growth, increases the capacity for intellectual development and forms the foundation for all future learning."

Dr. Lin Day. Founder of the Baby Sensory, Toddler Sense and Baby Foundations programmes

Toddler Sense sessions continue the fun for toddlers from 13 months to 3.5 years and are jam-packed with fabulous activities and fun adventures to help adventurous toddlers burn off excess energy and develop vital physical, communication, social and intellectual skills that form the foundation of all future learning.  Classes encourage imagination and problem solving through sensory play and role play and no two weeks are ever the same.

Carefully planned sessions include time for energetic toddlers to develop their physical skills in the adventure play area, followed by structured and themed class leader led activities, giving toddlers time to explore, learn and make new friends.
