My little miracle is 18 months old, which means 18 months ago I experienced the most frightening yet most wonderful day of my life!

No one prepares you for what having a premature baby is like. The grief, the what ifs, the confusion, the second guessing and the moment that’s meant to be special but is tarnished. It is also the celebrations of the little things, the gratitude and the miracle of modern medicine.

The Miracle Babies Foundation offers support not only during the NICU stay, but beyond through Nurture Group (our favourite Fridays).

In Australia, every hour 6 babies are born premature or critically ill. These babies require specialised medical care and sadly, each year up 1,000 babies will lose their fight for life. One is too many!

I am taking part in the Miracle Moon Walk to raise funds for Miracle Babies Foundation who provide vital programs and resources to these miracle families to help them through this overwhelming and traumatic experience.
