Our beautiful daughter Thea was born at just 22 weeks, weighing only 471 grams. She came into this world far too early, and from her very first breath, she had to fight for her life. Thea spent nearly seven months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) at Mercy Hospital, Sunshine Hospital, and the Royal Children’s Hospital — hospitals that became our second home during the most uncertain time of our lives.

Every day in the NICU was a rollercoaster of emotions — fear, hope, joy, and heartbreak. Thea faced countless battles including lung complications, feeding challenges, and infections, but she kept going. She showed us what true strength looks like in the tiniest form.

Thanks to the incredible care, equipment, and dedication of the NICU teams, Thea defied the odds. We finally brought her home — with oxygen and a feeding tube — and while the journey is still ongoing, we are so proud of how far she’s come.
