The experience of having a baby born premature or sick can be life-changing and the impacts can last a lifetime. When parents have poor emotional health, children are less likely to thrive. The right support for parents can make a world of difference and looking after the wellbeing of the parents is crucial.
Our resources provide vital information, guidance and support to help families navigate every stage of the emotional and overwhelming neonatal journey.
13,902NurtureProgram Resources were provided to families via hospitals nationally in 2024.
The NurtureLine, 24 hour family support line, and face to face services provide peer to peer, emotional support to parents, carers and the entire family unit. Our trained NurtureProgram team members are all parents themselves with a shared experience.
In 2024, 11,261 support interactions were delivered in-hospital or after-discharge through NurtureTime, NurtureGroup and NurtureLine services.
Families are supported at every stage of having a baby born premature or sick, not just during the hospital journey, but for years beyond.
Through services and resources together, a total of 25,163 support interactions were achieved in 2024.
Still, around 1 in 2 families are going through the journey alone.

We know that the experience can be overwhelming and often, the entire family unit can be impacted. We are here to support all families of premature or sick babies, during their entire hospital journey.

Join our NurtureGroup (specialised play and support groups) for families who have been discharged with their baby born premature or sick. Make lifelong friendships and access ongoing support from birth until your baby starts school.
Finding information can be overwhelming, during the hospital journey and well beyond. The Nurture E Information Hub assists parents and children themselves through all life stages from the Early Years to Adulthood and the years between.
