Audrey, 26 Weeks

Miracle mum Steph shares Audrey's story:

At my 20week anatomy scan, the doctors picked up that my cervix was shortening. I was put on medication but it wasn’t working and my waters broke at exactly 26 weeks. I was admitted to King Edwards Hospital and three days later, I went into labour and miss Audrey was welcomed to the world!
The medical team snapped into action immediately and started caring for Audrey around the clock. After a smooth 54 days at king eddys we were transferred closer to home at Joondalup hospital where she spent the remainder of her time getting big and strong enough to come home. She spent a total of 74 days in hospital in total and coming home the day after Boxing Day. The best belated Christmas present we could have asked for.

Audrey just reached full term mid January and is just over 3 months old weighing just shy of 3kgs.

Miracle Babies helped make our experience a little less scary, providing support and little gifts that made our time in hospital feel special and easier. We are so grateful for both the medical team and Miracle Babies Foundation in our scariest time.

Audrey's family are fundraising for Miracle Babies this year, 2026! They are running 74kms combined to represent the 75 days Audrey spent in hospital in the month of February to raise money and awareness and to help parents going through the Neonatal journey.
