Dawson, 35 weeks

Miracle mum Mackenzie shares Dawson's story:

My pregnancy with Dawson was very high risk. I had to give up working at 20w and required a stitch in my cervix at 20w due to my cervix opening.

I was told by doctors that there was a high chance of Dawson being born premature. Despite the possible chance of pre-term birth, I had a scheduled casearean booked for 37w.

At 35w, my waters broke. At 35+1, I needed an emergency casearean due to a cervical tear. Dawson was also breeched.

Dawson was admitted into the Special Care Nursery at John Hunter Hospital and spent a total of 19 days between the Special Care Nursery at John Hunter and Maitland Special Care.

Dawson is now turning 3 and is thriving! I'm very greatful for all of the support from the nurses and doctors.
