Miracle Month of May is a time to highlight the work of Miracle Babies Foundation and its vital support for premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them, as well as share the stories of Australia's miracles.
With 132 babies born each day in Australia needing specialised care, your support is critical.
Keep reading to find out how you can help to raise awareness and much needed funds to support more premature and sick newborns and their families this May.
On Tuesday 5 May, your donation will go even further. For one day only, all donations will be quadrupled thanks to matching donors as Miracle Babies Foundation works to expand its services and reach more families with the emotional support and education they need - not just during their baby’s hospital stay, but for years beyond.
We’re working towards expanding our in-hospital support services across even more units around the country. As an organisation with no regular government funding, we rely on the generosity of our community to help make this possible.
International Kangaroo Care Awareness Day is held on May 15th each year.
It also marks the start of our annual Kangaroo-a-thon, a time to raise awareness of the importance of Kangaroo Care and encourage neonatal units to participate in a challenge to increase Kangaroo cuddles.
There are many benefits of Kangaroo Care particularly for babies born premature or critically ill and their parents.
Winners of the Kangaroo-a-thon will recieve a brand new Kangaroo Care chair for their unit with thanks to WaterWipes. We appreciate the support.
