Mackenzie, 36 Weeks

Miracle Mum Lauren shares Mackenzie's story:

"After a completely normal pregnancy we found out about IUGR at 36 weeks and were advised our boy was below average size.

Mackenzie was born via emergency caesarean 3 days later weighing 1820g.

Thankfully he was healthy and strong and spent the next month in the SCN feeding and growing. We spent his first Christmas in hospital before being able to take him home to meet his big sister in time for the new year.

He is now a happy, thriving 13 month old. We now know that the IUGR was caused by a placental abruption (of which I had no symptoms) and we are thankful everyday for the incredible team of doctors and nurses who gave our boy the best start to life!"
