Miracle mum Hagan shares Samson's story:
At 35 weeks, Samson stopped growing, and we spent a week being monitored from home. During that time, I developed pre-eclampsia that quickly became unmanageable. At 36 weeks, the decision was made to induce. What followed was a long and exhausting journey, a 6-day induction and 12-hour labour, before Samson was born at 37 weeks via an unplanned c-section.
After birth, Samson was taken straight to NICU, where he required both oxygen and feeding support, spending his first 6 days of life there. Just 5 days after we made it home, he was rushed to PCH, where I first heard the diagnosis of Laryngomalacia. Samson is tube fed and lives with ongoing complex health needs.
Being part of the Miracle Babies Foundation Nurture Group has been incredibly meaningful for us. It’s a place where we feel understood without needing to explain our journey. Most importantly, Samson isn’t seen as a sick child —he’s simply seen for who he is. That sense of belonging and understanding is hard to find unless you’ve walked a similar path, and it’s exactly what we’ve found through Miracle Babies.
