Jess is the proud mum of two beautiful boys. Her second son was born at 25 +1 weeks, weighing just 654 grams. They spent 179 days in the NICU, where he battled sepsis multiple times, NEC, pneumonia, compartment syndrome and underwent multiple surgeries. He was on a ventilator for most of his NICU stay and came home on oxygen and with an NG tube.

Today, he is thriving and so determined to live his best life. With their first cold and flu season coming up since being home, the family feels slightly terrified after three consecutive bouts of bronchiolitis, but they are so excited to be connected through the Miracle Babies team.

The strength, resilience and bravery Jess witnessed in her miracle baby, as well as in the families and staff in the NICU at Canberra Hospital, bring them hope that the long journey of recovery ahead will not be one they face alone.
