I am a proud mum of four beautiful children—two earth angels and two shining stars.
Being relatively new to Australia at the time, with no immediate family nearby, we experienced the devastating loss of our first daughter, Hannah, at full term. Hannah spent three precious days in the NICU on life support before we were faced with the heartbreaking decision no parent should ever have to make — to turn off her life support.
Five years later, we experienced unimaginable loss once again when our almost two-year-old son died from SIDS.
We later welcomed our son, who is now a young man of almost 23, before experiencing another devastating loss when our little boy died from SIDS just before his second birthday. At the time, I was pregnant with our youngest daughter, who is now 17.
I know this pathway far too well. Not once, but twice, I have walked through profound loss and grief — experiences that have shaped who I am and, ultimately, strengthened my desire to walk alongside and support other families during some of the most vulnerable and uncertain moments of their lives.
