Sally Constable

Consumer Representative

Sally lives in Dubbo, regional NSW, with her wife, Kaiti, and their two young daughters, Esme and Dottie. Her journey to motherhood has included IVF, pregnancy loss, same-sex parenting and navigating healthcare services in regional NSW. Her family’s story was also featured on Channel 9’s Big Miracles.

Sally is a primary school teacher and brings lived experience as both a birthing and non-birthing parent in a same-sex family. Her second daughter, Dottie, was unexpectedly born at 30 weeks and spent six weeks in NICU and Special Care Nursery at Nepean Hospital, after Sally was urgently transferred from Dubbo. During this time, Sally and her family received support from Miracle Babies Foundation, which had a lasting impact on their experience.

As a Consumer Representative, Sally is passionate about improving support for families navigating neonatal care, particularly those living in rural and regional communities. She is also passionate about ensuring same-sex parents and diverse family structures are recognised, respected and included in healthcare, and that every family feels heard and represented.
