Liz is mum to four children, Laura and Max who are in their late 30’s and identical twins, Michael and Cameron who passed away in NICU, 41 years ago. Michael and Cameron arrived at 29 weeks gestation on Mother’s Day in May 1985.
Cameron lived for 24 hours while Michael lived for 4 months in NICU, sadly passing away in the following September.
As well as being premature Michael and Cameron both had the added challenge of a congenital heart defect. Our memory of NICU, while heartbreaking, is still so special. During those four months the medical staff became our family.
The memory of our twins is never far away. On their 40th birthday, my husband, adult kids and our 2 beautiful grandchildren released helium balloons in the park behind us in the early evening as the sun went down. They are never forgotten.
