02/02/2026
2025 was a massive year for Miracle Babies Foundation, and we were able to increase and expand our NurtureProgram services and resources, allowing us to reach even more families in the Neonatal unit and beyond.
We are incredibly proud to support miracle families through our NurtureProgram, made possible by the generosity of our community.
After discharge play support groups continue to grow.
♦ We started a new NurtureGroup in Keilor, VIC and our Canberra NurtureGroup restarted this year.
In-hospital, we’re here more often and in more hospitals nationally.
♦ For the first time, we launched NurtureTime at our first hospital in Melbourne, The Royal Children’s Hospital.
♦ We started at Mercy Hospital (VIC), providing 15 hours of in-hospital support each week.
♦ Plus, Gold Coast University Hospital, increased to 15 hours of weekly NurtureTime support.
♦ We were also able to expand NurtureTime in several current, hospitals under our new model of care. This included increasing support to 15 hours per week at Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, Nepean Hospital, and John Hunter Hospital. At Campbelltown Hospital, this was extended to 6 hours per week.
Resources Designed to Support Families

Through an independent study conducted by the Impact Institute, the benefits of peer support programs, just like the Miracle Babies Foundation NurtureProgram were evident, further solidifying the need for programs like this within hospitals and within the community for vulnerable groups.
Our NurtureProgram includes NurtureLine (24 Hour Family Support Line), NurtureTime (in-hospital emotional support) and NurtureGroups (community play and support groups, for after discharge). This also includes the distribution of our NurtureProgram Resources, via hospitals.

This is an incredible 31% increase vs 2024 support interactions. This results in:
More than 1 in 2 families were supported nationally by Miracle Babies through our NurtureProgram.
A huge thank you to our miracle families, supporters, volunteers and the community who supported us in 2025. Without all the support we received, we wouldn't have been able to support this many families of premature and sick newborns.
In 2025, We also achieved over 500,000 page views on our website for support, education and information. Our Nurture E Information Hub is a valuable resource assisting families through different life stages from Pregnancy to Adulthood and the years between.
This year, to support the expansion of our services, we welcomed 7 new NurtureProgram Support Workers to the Miracle Babies family. They will be contributing across NurtureTime and NurtureGroups nationwide, as well as assisting with NurtureLine, our 24-hour support helpline. We also want to acknowledge the volunteers who joined us this year, providing support to our families through our NurtureProgram.

Following a petition achieving more than 10,000 signatures, more than 100 family stories, growing letters of support, along with dozens of supporting organisations, we recently announced the Neonatal Critical Care Alliance (Miracle Babies Foundation, The University of Melbourne, Tresillian In Clarence Family Care Centre, Birth Trauma Australia, HeartKids and Cerebral Palsy Alliance).
Miracle Babies Foundation together with the Neonatal Critical Care Alliance is continuing to raise advocacy and awareness of the Paid Parental Leave (PPL) Legislation in Australia, highlighting the need for more customised legislation and compassion for families with a premature or sick baby, at times spending weeks and months in the hospital.
The combined efforts of these key organisations will amplify and drive forward the call for extended paid parental leave for parents of premature and critically ill babies. On the 5th of November, Miracle Babies along with the Neonatal Critical Care Alliance hosted a Roundtable that was held together with families, health professionals and members of Parliament in Canberra. We will continue lobbying the government to make this change for families in our community.
At Miracle Babies Foundation, our corporate partners play a crucial role in helping us support the 48,000 families impacted by prematurity and sickness each year. We work collaboratively to tailor a partnership to their needs and pride ourselves on our ability to market our partners to our community.
We thank our Corporate Partners, BabyLove, WaterWipes, Chiesi, and Hyundai Help for Kids for their continued support each year. In 2025, we were also pleased to welcome QV Baby and mybreastpump.com.au, who joined our Corporate Partners in supporting our miracle families.
