1 November 2026

Neonatal November is about highlighting the work of the incredible neonatal teams, the importance of these units and raising awareness of the challenges families face when they've experienced having a baby born requiring specialised neonatal care.
Throughout November, we’re raising awareness and vital funds to ensure families can access the practical and emotional support they need, when they need it most.
Neonatal November also recognises World Prematurity Day, Sunday 15th November (previously 17th of November). World Prematurity Day is a globally recognised day dedicated to raising awareness of preterm birth including the deaths and disabilities it can cause as well as the simple, proven, and cost-effective measures that can help prevent it.
Fundraise for Miracles this November to allow more families access to vital support that they need for this emotional and challenging experience. It costs $147 to support a family currently navigating the neonatal unit. Make a difference to families of premature and critically ill newborns this World Prematurity Day. World Prematurity Day falls on Sunday, 15 November. It is a globally recognised day dedicated to raising awareness of preterm birth including the deaths and disabilities it can cause as well as the simple, proven, and cost-effective measures that can help prevent it. Each year in Australia, up to 27,000 babies are born prematurely, requiring the specialised medical care of a Neonatal Unit.
Help us raise awareness and funds to provide emotional support and education as we work to enhance, support and improve all lives impacted by prematurity or sickness at birth.
PURPLE is the international colour of prematurity awareness and we are asking Australia to join the rest of the world, to ‘Light It Purple’, highlighting premature birth and the journey of these families.
This November 15, we would like to see you LIGHT IT PURPLE for premature infants. Light purple candles, light your offices and homes in purple and get your community involved. We look forward to seeing a ray of purple light around the country.
A special day in the Miracle Babies calendar is Thank U NICU Day happening on Friday, 27 November 2026. It’s a day to show our appreciation for the incredible neonatal staff and their dedication to caring for our miracle babies.
