Bayley Assessment

The Bayley Scales of Infant Development has long been recognised internationally as an excellent tool to assess the mental and motor development of young children from as young as 1 to 42 months of age.

Children are assessed to measure their level of development in five key developmental domains of cognition, language, social-emotional, motor and adaptive behaviour.

The Bayley’s helps to identify infant and toddler strengths and competencies, as well as their weakness. It may help with diagnosis or treatment planning for children with developmental delays or disabilities and can help track your child’s progress as they grow.

Taking your child for any test can seem daunting. The Bayley Scales of Infant Development can be a valuable tool to help you and your child’s health care team learn more about their development and needs. It may help to write down any of your questions before your appointment and remember to just take it one step at a time.
